MFiber supports Missouri's Agricultural economic impact by investing in local farmers

From grain and oilseeds, to cattle, hogs and other livestock -  there is a lot to be proud of when it comes to Missouri Agriculture.

According to the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Economic Impact report, in 2016 Missouri Agriculture had a $88.4 billion-dollar impact and created 378,232 jobs.

At MFiber we are invested in Missouri Agriculture and are honored to be part of the state’s economic impact. We work directly with local farmers to grow a non-traditional, non-wood cellulose fiber for dog and cat diets. Dog and cat food manufacturing is among the top three contributors to value-added agriculture products in Missouri, bringing in $2.3 billion.

It’s our commitment to agriculture and local farmers that ensure MFiber is safe, reliable and nutritious. We work alongside our farmers to plant, harvest and haul our pet food fiber -  guaranteeing complete product traceability every step of the way.

By focusing on Good Agricultural Practices, we not only produce a product that is packed full of integrity, but is also sustainable and environmentally friendly. Our fiber crop, Miscanthus, requires low nutrient inputs and has low nutrient removal when harvested. This is because the plant moves all its nutrients back into the soil for next year’s growing season. In addition, Miscanthus is a carbon negative crop, meaning the crop removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere leaving a negative carbon footprint.

Our business model is deeply embedded into the agricultural industry and because of this, we strive to make decisions that will contribute positively to Missouri Agriculture, our farmers and our communities every single day.

National Ag Week is celebrated March 19-25, 2017, and there truly is plenty to celebrate this week and all year long. Join us in recognizing Missouri agriculture, U.S. farmers and ranchers, and the great industry that produces safe and wholesome food and pet foods.
