When it comes to food quality and food safety, many consumers demand pet food that is Made in America. According to a 2015 Consumer Report survey, 8 in 10 American consumers say they would rather buy an American-made product over an imported one. Sixty percent of those surveyed said they were willing to pay 10 percent more for domestic products.

Consumers directly relate food quality and food safety with American-made products, but Made in America isn’t enough, consumers demand U.S. sourced ingredients. In response to the Made in America Movement, more and more pet food manufacturers have dedicated their brands to American-made and American-sourced ingredients.

However, finding domestically sourced ingredients can become quite the challenge for pet food manufacturers. Finding these ingredients can take a lot of time, research and due diligence. 

At MFiber we are passionate about producing pet food fiber grown locally by U.S. farmers. We know that by contracting with local farmers we are able to provide a product with the utmost integrity. We take pride in knowing that our pet food fiber is completely traceable and transparent. Our one-of-the-kind production system enables us to locate the exact field where our Miscanthus was harvested from.

But traceability means more to us than being able to locate the farm where our Miscanthus was grown. We start our traceability process by planting high-quality, U.S. sourced Miscanthus seedstock, which only needs to be planted once every 20 years. Once the rhizomes (seeds) have been planted, we work directly with the farmers to ensure we get the best possible yields for the upcoming harvest season. When the crop is ready to be harvested, we use our advanced equipment to guarantee that our Miscanthus is harvested efficiently. The last stage in our traceability process before manufacturing is to haul the harvested Miscanthus to one of our storage facilities.

From planting to harvesting to manufacturing, we oversee every step of production so our customers can rest assured they are getting the safest, U.S. grown fiber ingredient on the market.

Lynzee Glass has always had a passion for agriculture. Lynzee grew up in a small southwest Missouri town on her parents’ beef cattle operation. Her true appreciate for agriculture was developed during her involvement in FFA (Future Farmers of America). Lynzee attended Missouri State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in agricultural communications. After graduation Lynzee worked as the managing editor of Ozarks Farm and Neighbor newspaper, a regional livestock publication, where she had the opportunity to share the stories of Ozark farmers. Throughout that time, Lynzee was published over 100 times. Under her direction as managing editor, Ozarks Farm and Neighbor was award first-place in newspaper- general excellence by the Livestock Publications Council. She has also been recognized in the industry for her writing and photography skills. Today, her role as Director of Communications gives her the opportunity to continue working in agriculture. Lynzee oversees the website, social media, event planning, marketing and advertising. When Lynzee is not at the office she can be found volunteering within her church, serving as the marketing chair for Missouri State University Darr School of Agriculture Alumni and spending time with family and friends.
